3:13-18 belong with James 4 3;13 Who is wise (having wisdom, sophia, the ability to apply believed Bible teaching principles and categories to life)? Who has the realm of Bible teaching believed and coursing through the conscious mind available for application to life? He ought to display, out of a righteous verbal and overt lifestyle, that his belief in Bible Teaching is allowed to change his conscience, move his heart, he speaks of Bible teaching from his vocabulary and contemplates it in his heart and integrates it with the rest of what he believes, his Bible teaching affects his thought, speech and action, he applies believed Bible teaching to his life producing the fruit of the Holy Spirit: humility; a desire to obey God, as a humble servant his master, as a nobleman at court is humbly subject to the King, as a loyal son to his father. v.14 On the contrary side of the issue, we have the proud and arrogant who show their haughty spirit in bitter jealousy and selfish ambition that fills their conscience, moves their heart, they speak bitter jealousy and selfish ambition from their vocabulary and contemplate bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in their heart and integrate it with the rest of what they believe, their bitter jealousy and selfish ambition affects their thought, speech and action, they apply bitter jealousy and selfish ambition to their lives. If you are one of these, don't be arrogant and boast about wisdom and understanding and so lie against the categories and principles of Bible teaching. v.15 bitter jealousy and selfish ambition that fills their conscience, moves their heart is not wisdom from above, but is earthly, kosmic-worldly from Satan's world system administered by his demons. v.16 Wherever bitter jealousy and selfish ambition fill the consciences and move the hearts, their is chaos and every kind of evil thing.

v.17 Back on the right side of the issue, the wisdom, the ability to apply believed Bible teaching principles and categories to life, which God sends down from above, that wisdom is first of all, sine qua non, pure, cleansed by confession and so filled with the Holy Spirit, then peaceable, reconciling all to God by faith in Jesus, reasonable, willing to listen to error because Jesus is the correction of all error, full of mercy, forbearing to condemn out of love and deference to the judge in heaven, and likewise full of the nine fold fruit of the holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control, full up to the top with all that is the wisdom from above which is also unwavering, always applying believed Bible teaching principles and categories to life, and free from hypocrisy, living the life espoused and preached. v.18 Wisdom's work: Jesus is the seed sown in righteous living, bearing fruit of imputed and experiential righteousness, sown seed of Christ from the reconciled soul to the one to being reconciled to God. Reconciliation with God is the only true peace.

James 4:1 You have quarrels and conflicts! Where do they all come from?

Now James is once again going to descend into some prurient imagery which God's old testament prophets readily did at God's behest. It troubles me how much is found in the book of James so far. For instance Pursuit in 1:11, also 1:13-15 our failure is like our lust seducing us, carrying us away, and, conceiving in us, siring a new born son, our sin, who brings us lust's incestuous grandchild, death. And then again 2:1-13, likewise, if we favor the rich while condemning the destitute, we are like an adulterer who says he is pure because he doesn't murder. 2:25 Rahab the whore used as illustration, now 4:1b Is not the source of your quarrels and conflicts your pleasures that wage war within you and ravage your members? 4:2 When you lust for what you cannot have, you murder to get it. Also you envy what others have that you don't have, and when you can't get it, you fight and quarrel. You lack things God wants you to have because you do not pray to God for your needs and wants. Does the Bible teach in vain, God is jealous, zealous and passionate, over us that we might abide in His love complex beginning with the filling of the spirit at gates 1 and 2.(New testament version of zealous we should obey his commands, like no idols, and now live in his love complex) 4v.6 On the contrary side of the issue, God gives superabounding Grace to his obedient loving followers More than a conqueror is a Super Gladiator, but God attacks the proud and arrogant who oppose Him. 4v.7 That is plenty of reason to be humble at Gate 6, obey God and submit wholly to Him. Resist instead the devil, oppose him and he will run away from you in terror. 4v.8 Attach yourself to God and He will attach Himself to you.
